Shelley L. Levisay
Owner & Managing Attorney

Shelley L. Levisay is the founder and managing attorney of Shawnee Litigator Law. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law and a member of the prestigious Order of Barristers, Shelley built her career in the courtroom advocating for clients when the stakes are highest.

Shelley began her legal career as a prosecutor, gaining extensive trial experience before transitioning to private practice. In 2014, she founded Shawnee Litigator Law with a focus on criminal defense and family law representation.

Over the course of her career, Shelley has tried more than 30 jury trials and over 100 bench trials, bringing extensive courtroom experience to every case she handles. She is known for her thorough preparation, strategic thinking, and unwavering dedication to her clients.

Shelley also serves as a public defender in Pottawatomie County and works on appeals involving parents who have lost their children through proceedings with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services.

She later earned an LL.M. in Indigenous Peoples Law in 2022, further strengthening her commitment to advocacy and justice.

Rena Campbell

Rena Campbell has been with the firm since 2016 and serves as Shelley’s intake specialist, receptionist, and assistant. She is often the first person clients speak with and helps ensure every client receives responsive, organized, and compassionate support.

Outside the office, Rena shares Shelley’s love of animals and brings a warm, caring presence to the firm.

Shelley’s Writing & Advocacy

In addition to her legal work, Shelley Levisay is also a writer who is passionate about helping others through storytelling and personal reflection.

As a domestic violence survivor, Shelley has dedicated much of her life to advocating for victims and raising awareness that “love shouldn’t hurt.” Through her writing, she seeks to empower readers with the courage, knowledge, and perspective needed to overcome difficult circumstances.

Shelley writes about law, life, and personal resilience, sharing stories that connect with readers and encourage healing and personal growth.

Her work reflects the same passion for advocacy that she brings to her legal practice — helping people find strength, understanding, and hope during challenging times.
